I,m 26 years old guy from south, korea. I was became here cuz someone who I met in the sultanahşmet street recommended this hotel. omitting other items, the most important thing is that all the facility is new and clean. Nevertheless the fee is not so expensive. Of course, the other items are also not bad. I wanna come again after looking around the all turkey. Have a nice tour!

I found out about Cheers Hostel from a friend of mine. I loved the place instantly – it’s new, cosy, great location (the common room/bar on the top floor is all windows and has unbeatable view of the Hagia Sofya) and very friendly and helpful staff. I’m not often staying in hostel but I have stayed in a few super shitty places in the Sultanahmed years ago so this was just an incredible surprise. I also loved the little terrase outside the hostel building that seems so very peaceful yet good 100m away from the Istanbul’s top spot. Enjoy it fellow travellers!

I stayed in a hotel beside Cheers Hostel and transferred there after 3 days because I found the hostel very clean and new. It was amazingly spacious in the 6-bedroom dorm with 3 double decker beds and an ensuite shower room. Rooftop terrace has an amazing view of Hagia Sofya. Tucked away in a quiet lane (but still very safe and accessible to main tourist sights), it is a rare gem that’s highly recommended. Staff are helpful and friendly, and it’s great value for money.

Cheers Hostel is a perfect choice for the shoestring traveler vısıting Istanbul. The Hostel is clean, priced very resonably, and staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Make sure to check out the views from the roof-top bar; they are stunning!

Cheers is a wonderful, super clean, friendly place I would recommend to anyone looking to stay in a cheap well located comfortable hostel. The staff really care that your stay is a good one and will help you out with any queries you have. Beds are big squishy and quiet so even if your in a dorm you get a great night sleep. You can check in whenever you arrive as long as they have space for you and are really flexible about breakfast and checkout times unlike some other hostels. Thanks guys you made our stay here awesome!

Cheers Hostel; what can i say. Stay there! don’t hesitate. I stayed in a lot of places in europe over my months of traveling, and i reckon this is THE best. If you want to stay in a place that is super comfortable, clean, friendly, and very very central, AND so affordable. This place is IT. I stayed here for over a week. The guys that run the place are so hospitable and make every effort to make your stay an enjoyable one. You might arrive as a stranger, but you will leave as friends for sure. five stars to Onur and his pals that run the place. You rock! Serefe.

By far the finest hostel I have stayed through my travels. Very clean and cozy rooms full of light. The location is PERFECT for visiting all the major sights and very close to 2 tram stations. The owner and staff are friendly and very helpful as well as great fun. It actually felt like seeing old friends. There are no words for the great nights we spent by the fireplace at the rooftop bar enjoying the view to Hagia Sofia and the park. Definitely will be going back.

I actually don’t leave Cheers for another 48 hours, but a series of events really inspired me to write now… 1. These guys are AMAZING. example: I got a bottle of wine to drink on their unbelievable upstairs terrace…a 180 unobstructed view of Aya Sophia (you could almost touch it!!). I got myself a glass from the breakfast/lounge area…and settled in upstairs. Not 3 minutes had passed when the owner, Onur, came upstairs and handed me a wine glass and turned on the lights… That’s all he came up to do. I had a glass. And all I needed… But he wanted to make sure I had the BEST. THAT is how Cheers is run. A happy customer is not good enough. The staff here will WALK you where you need to go…i have NEVER experienced this level of humanity. Rooms – IMMACULATE. Food – PERFECT. The Staff – FRIENDS. And just because I can’t resist…another example… Coming from Chicago in a flurry…I forgot my electronics converter. Upon arrival…I asked where I would be able to get one… 1 hour later…I had a converter. Never asked for a penny. THAT is what friends do. I’m impressed with Cheers. And they have made me impressed of Istanbul. I travel extensively…and would be more than happy to answer any questions anyone may have regarding my experience: katherine@knichols.eu

Cheers is simply the best. There was nothing quite like waking up to a yummy breakfast and a cup of Hasan’s coffee and watching the Blue Mosque from the terrace. Yavus gives the best tours around Istanbul and Veli gives the hostel it’s soundtrack. The beds are SO comfortable and the entire place is spotless. Really can’t say enough about the company and the hostel itself. Thank you guys for such an amazing stay. I miss you all and give Lilu my love!!!

Problems exist to be solved so as the showerhead the problem started probably the night before…. after too much EFES from the cozy Cheershostelbar with an amazing view served from great stuff anyway a few hours later I had one of the best shower in my entire life. Thanks for security (Lilu the Dog) the saturday night tour, the DJ and all in general

My traveling companion Dan and I originally booked four out of our six nights at Cheers in Istanbul. After the first night, it was apparent that we both wanted to spend the rest of the trip with our new friends. To say that the staff is friendly doesn’t approach the full story – they are some of highest quality folks I have ever met. The accommodations are an absolute bargain for the cost and you couldn’t ask for a better location in Istanbul. I will never ever forget my trip to Turkey – but it was exponentially enhanced by Onur, Yost, Jess and Hasan. They are truly the best cowboys that will make a special price for you! Every time I lift a pint from now on I will tap my glass on the table in honour of my friends at Cheers. And if you do end up at Cheers, ask them to put on the “Cheersamericatown” Grooveshark playlist and quaff an Efes for Dan and I.

Cheers hostel is definitely one of the best hostels where I have ever been. It’s incredibly central close to Sultanhament and the staff is really friendly and helpful. They always have a nice smile trying to advice to you something. The bathroom was simply like home, very tidy and clean. Breakfast is fine and enough, specially if you have it out in the terrace and you are listen the Istambul Mosque’s sound. Wow! Nice place with nice people! Highly recommended! Pedro, from Spain.

Two thumbs up for Cheers. Excellent location. Great price. Very helpful staff (thank you Fatih!). Nice rooms. We stayed a few nights in the double room with private bathroom. They helped us with the tours, getting us taxis and finding accommodation in other areas. We really recommend it.

OH MAN was this place the best. Literally from the moment I saw Cheers I knew it would be the place “where everybody knows your name” (watch the American TV show: The rooms exceeded all expectations I had. The staff were funny, sociable, incredibly helpful and knew everyone’s name upon arrival. The hostel provided breakfast every morning, had a fridge, computers and everything you need and was closer to the main sights than most of the 5-star hotels. And when I didn’t think they could take it to the next level, they literally did when we went upstairs and I saw the view of Hagia Sofia from the terrace where you can chill and have a drink with new and old friends. Definitely coming back and making sure my friends only go to Cheers when they stop in Istanbul. Cheers! Eric

When I stumbled off the coach from Tehran to Istanbul at 5am – journey time 42 hours – I knew exactly where to go. Back to Cheers where I’d been just over a month before. It’s the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in and every good thing the other reviews say is true. I was there at the end of April and beginning of June 2010, hopefully returning for two nights at the end of December on my way back to the Middle East – can’t wait! Cheers! Ben

It didnt work on Hostelworld.com, so voila: The cheers hostel is a lovely place for people who does not just want to sleep there but spent a little bit of their time:playing tavla or drinking raki on the terrasse, having a little talk or watching tv in the “living-room”.We had a great time except our departure. We were supposed to take the shuttlebus to the airport, but it started 5minutes earlier-we didnt knew that you have to be 15 minutes ready before departure.so we missed it.we could get the money back but instead of a 50lira note we got a 5 Lira note.it was early in the morning, neither we nor the host were awake enough to realise it.Anyway, the hostel is really nice and relax, especially the crew and the privaterooms.

Since we arrived, we felt like being home, the guys who work there are really kind. Our room was really clean and confortable, we had a private room. Its really close and easy to make tourism, also a really safe place and nice. You have the view of Hagia Sophia from the terrace, a lovely dog jaja, and an amazing climate. I´ve been in a lot of hostels and hotels around the world, and for me this is one of the best ones.

I stayed at Cheers twice (6 nights initially, 1 more night on my way home) and sampled 2 dorms and a private room (due to availability when I booked). Location can’t be beat – and the view of the Aya Sofia from the roof bar is simply fantastic. Beds were VERY comfortable in all rooms; linens were always clean. Dorms feel spacious and have nice lockers; female dorm has en-suite shower and shared toilet. Breakfast was great. The staff (Samet, Tariq, and everyone) made me feel very much at home. Bijou (the dog) was an added bonus! Thanks, guys. I hope to see you again on my next trip…

Stayed there with a group of students. We stayed in the jungle room with a group of 12 boys for a whole week and the room wasn’t cleaned through the whole week, which was quite disgusting. The terrace bar is great, although some drinks weren’t available when we asked for them. For example, they have a picture of Jack Daniels saying “Jack lives here” on the wall, however, when we asked for a Jack, they didn’t have any. The breakfast is fine for the price, but not too fingerlicking good. Although I mentioned some negative aspects I am quite satisfied with the hostel.

It’s 11:30 at night. If I was 20 years old I think I would appreciate the party going on one floor from my room. The bar is kickin, the music is playing and the girls, they are screaming. What am I doing? Trying to sleep. I have two days in Istanbul, I’m 27, I do not want to drink the days away, I want to sight see. I am very unhappy at the fact there is a party going on 10 feet from my bed.
